 If I could write to you,

this is what I would say:

Thank you.
For every walk.
For every meal.
For every silly game and quiet night by your side.
For loving me so completely that my whole world was safe.

I know your tears fall heavy now.
I feel the ache in your chest.
But please remember—
when you let me go,
you gave me the greatest gift:
freedom from pain, wrapped in love.

Don’t think of me as gone.
Think of me as changed.
My paws no longer touch the floor,
but they leave prints in your dreams,
your memories,
your heart.

If I could write,
I would sign every page with the same promise:
I am yours.
Forever.
And I’ll be waiting, tail wagging,
when the bridge finally brings us home together.
