Trivia of Zsa Zsa Gabor (6 February 1917 - 18 December 2016)

*Born as Sári Gabor in Hungary.Called as ZsaZsa because, as a little girl, she couldn't pronounce her own name.She was the middle of three daughters.Her elder sister, Magda, was a socialite, and her younger sister, Eva, was an actress and businesswoman.

*When Zsa Zsa was just 17 years old, her entire life changed in the blink of an eye. She was walking the streets of Vienna, Austria, on a vacation when the opera singer Richard Tauber spotted her from across the road. Tauber, who dabbled in film roles, knew a superstar when he saw one, and invited her to join him on stage for a show. It was the beginning of her fame.

*Gabor competed in the 1933 Miss Hungary pageant, where she placed as second runner-up, and began her stage career in Vienna the following year.In 1941, she followed younger sister Eva to Hollywood.

*Her first film was musical comedy at Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer in Lovely to Look At (1952).Throughout her film career, Zsa Zsa Gabor showcased her versatility by appearing in both dramatic and comedic roles. Some of her notable films include “Moulin Rouge (1952)” and “Queen of Outer Space (1958)"

*She said she began calling everyone “dah-ling” because she had trouble remembering names.

*Gabor was married 9 times.First with Turkish politician Burhan Asaf Belge , Second with billionaire Conrad Hilton (father of Gabor’s only child), Third with British actor George Sanders (later Sanders married Gabor's older sister), Fourth with banker Herbert Hurtner, Fifth with oil businessman Joshua S.Cosden Jr, Sixth with toys designer Jack Ryan, Seventh with attorney Michael O'Hara, Eight with Mexican actor Felipe de Alba, and the last with Frederic Prinz von Anhalt who changed his name and became “royalty” after paying Princess Marie-Auguste of Anhalt to adopt him. Gabor, who was 26 years older than Anhalt, began calling herself Princess Zsa Zsa, Duchess of Saxony.

*Despite her (minor) film roles, Gabor’s most consistent career was in reality television and talk shows, leading many to hail her as the original Kardashian.Gabor frequently played herself in films or television shows rather than any fictional character.
