Looking back

Looking back, I'm still moved by how much I quietly carried just to hold things together — the silence, the ache, the weight of it all. I stayed strong so they wouldn't feel my fear. I kept the grief tucked away so others could feel comfortable.

That version of me gave everything. And I understand now why losing a pet breaks you the way it does — because there is no "just a pet." There is only a love that deep, and a space that nothing else can fill.
I'll hold every memory we made, gently and for always.
