BICYCLE THIEVES
"BICYCLE THIEVES" --- (1948) ---
MY THOUGHTS: Some people don't like foreign films, because they are bothered by subtitles. Some people are not bothered by them. I fall somewhere in the middle. If they are well-placed, well-paced and well-done, I am fine with them. Providing of course, that the movie itself captures my attention and is also well-done. But if the movie itself is hard to follow, or is just not very good, subtitles won't matter at all because I won't be watching it! However, that is NOT the case with this film. This film could be watched WITHOUT the subtitles altogether, and it could still be understood, it is THAT good of a film! I experienced it for the first time and I would certainly jump at the chance to watch it again!
