THAT'S LIFE!

 "THAT'S LIFE!" --- (1986) ---

MY THOUGHTS: This was my first time watching this movie and I thought it was very good. I did get a bit weary of how much of a complainer Jack Lemmon's character was, but I guess that was the point to his character's personality and pertinent to the overall plot. He and Julie Andrews worked well as a couple and did very well playing off of each other. I also enjoyed seeing him work with his real-life son, who bears a striking resemblance to his father. I like being able to discover new (to me) movies through the Data base of internet!
SYNOPSIS: "A well-to-do architect, Harvey Fairchild should be happy, but he's depressed and dreading his impending 60th birthday party. Meanwhile, his supportive wife, Gillian, endures a crisis of her own as she waits to hear back on tests for throat cancer, a condition that would threaten both her health and her singing career. As Harvey's birthday weekend progresses, the couple contends with these and other issues, and their problems threaten to eclipse the celebration."
STARRING: Jack Lemmon, Julie Andrews, Jennifer Edwards, Chris Lemmon, Robert Knepper, Felicia Farr, Dana Sparks, Sally Kellerman, Robert Loggia, Emma Walton Hamilton and Matt Lattanzi.
SCREENPLAY: Blake Edwards and Milton Wexler
DIRECTOR: Blake Edwards
AWARDS & OTHER HONORS:
It was nominated for five (5) awards from various entities (one of which was an Academy Award) but won none of them.
