Everley Gregg


 Everley Gregg was born in Hampstead, England in 1903 and was trained at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts (RADA) and had a successful West End career in contemporary dramas and comedies by Noel Coward and others. She made her film debut as Catherine Parr in Alexander Korda's "The Private Life of Henry VIII" in 1933. She nade a total of 61 film performances notably as Miss Haversham's fawning relative in David Lean's "Great Expectations" and as Dolly Messiter in "Brief Encounter". She died in Buckinghamshire in 1959 at the age of 58.
