Medieval ship returns home to Wales to be reassembled
Hailed as a find as significant as the Mary Rose, a ship described as "the world's largest 3D puzzle" is being returned to its home city, Newport, to be pieced back together. Since the 15th-century vessel was found in the banks of the river Usk in 2002, experts in Portsmouth have been restoring the 2,500 or so timbers. "We have a massive, flat-pack ship that we need to reassemble, and there are no instruc-tions," said curator Toby Jones. It's hoped that the Newport Ship will be on public display within five years.
