The goal was never
The goal was never to mold them into tiny versions of us.
It was to make space for who they already are. To listen more than we lecture. To watch with wonder as their own personality blooms, instead of trying to trim it to fit our expectations. The real work is in stepping back and seeing them. Not through the lens of who we want them to be, but through the truth of who they are.
Our children are not projects. They are people. Whole, complex, and entirely their own.
And the greatest gift we can give them is the freedom to become exactly that.
