Parenting happens in seasons

 Parenting happens in seasons.

From birth until about 7, our babies cling to us mamas. We are their world, their comfort, their safe place.

From 7 to 14, they start to look toward their dads, seeing them as role models, as guides into the bigger world they’re just starting to understand.

And from 14 onward, their peers and social circle take on a bigger influence, shaping their choices, their values, and who they’re becoming.

It’s not about losing them to the next stage—it’s about knowing each season has its role, its lessons, and its own kind of closeness.

So wherever you’re at in this journey whether you’re the mama being clung to, the dad being watched, or the parent learning to let go just enough remember this: every season matters. And every season passes.

Hold onto the one you’re in.
