You wanted to be a mom

“You wanted to be a mom.”

“You signed up for this.”
“Moms don’t get breaks.”

I’ve heard it all. And sure, there’s truth in it. I did want this. I love being a mom more than anything. But can we stop pretending that becoming a mom means I stopped being a person too?

I still get tired. I still feel overwhelmed. I still have emotions that deserve to be seen, not brushed off with a “you’re strong, you’ll figure it out.”

Yes, I’m a mom. But I’m also human. And sometimes, I need a moment to just breathe.
Not because I don’t love my kids
But because I’m allowed to have limits too.

Motherhood doesn’t erase our need for rest, support, or understanding.
We give so much. We just wish the world would see that we still need something back.
