The weight of tomorrow
The weight of tomorrow,
the what ifs,the quiet fears that wake you
before the sun does.
You’ve learned how to hold it well—
how to smile through it,
how to keep moving with it
resting heavy on your chest.
But you were never meant
to carry this.
Not the anxiety
that tightens your breath,
not the questions
that have no answers yet,
not the burden
of trying to control
what was never in your hands.
He never asked you
to be strong enough for all of it.
He asked you
to bring it to Him.
Cast your cares—
not gently set them down
where you can pick them back up again,
but throw them.
Release them.
Let them leave your hands
for good.
Because the truth is—
you cannot hold both
your worries
and His peace
at the same time.
One will always take the place
of the other.
And He is waiting—
not distant,
not disappointed,
not tired of your returning—
but ready.
Ready to take the weight
you’ve been dragging behind you.
Ready to carry
what has been carrying you.
Because you are not forgotten.
You are not overlooked
in the middle of your struggle.
You are deeply, personally,
intentionally cared for.
So loosen your grip.
The worry you keep rehearsing
will not change tomorrow.
But surrender will change you.
Cast it down.
All of it.
And let the God
who holds the world together
be the One
who holds you.
