STEALING HOME
"STEALING HOME" (1988)
MY THOUGHTS: This is a beautiful little "coming of age" film and one that many people are unfamiliar with. It deals with adolescence, loss, love and saying goodbye. It has a very talented cast, all of whom do a great job. Fans of Mark Harmon will enjoy seeing him "back in the day." Fans of Jodie Foster will get to see another one of her (many) memorable performances. The movie also has a good soundtrack. It is, in my humble opinion, worth the watch!
SYNOPSIS:
"Failed baseball player Billy Wyatt learns that his childhood sweetheart, Katie, has killed herself. The exuberant but troubled Katie, with her love and friendship, profoundly influenced Billy's life. She indicated that she wanted him to handle her ashes, and so he embarks on a train ride to the seaside town where he grew up. Nostalgia and grief overcome him as he loses himself in reminiscences about the joys and pains of his adolescence."
