High Flyers
"High Flyers" 1937 directed by Edward F. Cline, written by Benny Rubin, Bert Granet, and Byron Morgan for RKO Pictures.
Bert Wheeler, Robert Woolsey, Lupe Velez, Marjorie Lord, Margaret Dumont, Jack Carson, Paul Harvey, Charles Judels, Lucien Prival. Herbert Evans, Herbert Clifton, George Irving, Stanley Blystone.
The last Wheeler and Woolsey film is well-paced and directed since director Edward F. Cline was the director of many Buster Keaton short films and therefore, we are treated to an onslaught of cops in blue uniform. The film has a good cast with Lupe Velez showing a lot of her appeal and Wheeler does a good Chaplin impersonation plus there are a few good songs. After seeing their previously atrocious "Mummy's Boys" from 1936, I expected this to be awful, but it has charm and humor.
