Kids are little parrots

 Kids are little parrots.

They repeat the words they hear.
They copy the tone you use.
They mirror the way you speak to others… and the way you speak to yourself.

If you yell a lot, they’ll think yelling is normal.
If you speak with kindness, they’ll learn to lead with kindness too.
If you tear yourself down in front of them, they’ll learn to talk to themselves the same way.

It’s not about being perfect. No one can be calm and patient every second of the day.
It’s about remembering that your voice will eventually become their inner voice.

So speak to them the way you want them to speak to the world.
And speak about yourself the way you hope they’ll speak about themselves one day.
