Myrna Fahey

Myrna Fahey, a gifted actress whose brief but impactful career left a lasting impression on Hollywood and television. Born in Carmel, Maine, Fahey first gained recognition as a high school cheerleader and runner-up in the 1952 Miss Maine contest. Her pursuit of acting led her to study at the Pasadena Playhouse and begin landing early film and television roles in 1955.

Fahey is best remembered for her chilling performance as Madeline Usher in Roger Corman’s House of Usher (1960), a classic Edgar Allan Poe adaptation where she is famously buried alive by Vincent Price’s character. Her career also included roles in Imitation of Life (1959), The Story on Page One (1959), and numerous popular TV series, including Zorro, Maverick, 77 Sunset Strip, Hawaiian Eye, Perry Mason, and Batman, where she gained a devoted cult following as the villainess Blaze.

Despite early promise and public attention, including a brief romance with Joe DiMaggio, Fahey’s life was cut short when she passed away at age 40 after a courageous battle with cancer. Her gravesite continues to honor her contributions to film and television, celebrating a life of talent, resilience, and charm.
