Jerry Vale

Jerry Vale, born Genaro Louis Vitaliano (July 8, 1930 – May 18, 2014)

A vocalist best known for his ballads, he successfully yielded a number of singles on the music charts. Among them "Innamorata (Sweetheart)" (1956), "You Don't Know Me" (1956) and "Have You Looked Into Your Heart" (1965). He may perhaps be best remembered for the song "Al Di La" (1962). Jerry was a shoe shine boy at a local barber shop until his musical influences which included Frank Sinatra and Dean Martin led him to take singing lessons. While a teenager, he performed on New York's nightclub circuit, which led to his recording career. Vale died in his sleep at the age of 83 in May of 2014. He is interred at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Cathedral City, CA.
