 Maria Anna Theresa Vasa

This beautiful baby girl, born on this day in 1650, was a Polish princess, member of the house of Vasa.

Her father was king John II Casimir Vasa and mother, Marie Louise Gonzaga

Her mother had a difficult birth and, as their parents were both catholic, they promised the child from her birh to the Carmelite Order .

Unfortunately the little girl died next year at only 13 months.

Her funeral took place in August 1651 . She was burried in a nun robe in the church of the Carmelite sisters in Warsaw and placed in a golden coffin under the altar.

Her portrait was painted posthumous by Daniel Schultz .
