Charles Over Mansion
Charles Over Mansion Circa 1901, Muncie, Indiana.
One of Muncie's architectural stars in the Emily Kimbrough Historic District, just east of Downtown. The original residents were Charles Over and his wife; he of The Over Glassworks, a major manufacturer in town. The Dutch Colonial/Georgian Revival house remains well over a century later one of the finest of its style in the State of Indiana. The Cornucopia horns in the elaborate porch pediment are symbolic of the Muncie's prosperity at the time. The Over mansion is located within walking distance of downtown and is centrally located in the midst of other fine historic homes.
