Today is National Daughter Day

 Today is National Daughter Day.

And while every day I’m grateful for the gift of being her mom, today I’m stopping to really take it in.

The way she has changed me.
The way she has softened me.
The way she has taught me more about unconditional love than I ever thought possible.

She made me a mom.
She made me braver.
She made me realize that the smallest person can hold the biggest piece of my heart.

It’s not about the perfect matching outfits or the “cute” moments for a picture.
It’s about the late nights, the giggles, the tantrums, the cuddles, the tears.
It’s about every moment in between where she reminds me how lucky I am.

So today, and every day, I celebrate her.
My daughter.
My forever best friend, even when she grows up and doesn’t need me in the same way.

Because being her mom is the greatest honor of my life.
