Walking away is not easy

 Walking away is not easy.

It’s not some empowering scene in a movie with a dramatic song playing in the background.
It’s crying in your car.
It’s doubting yourself over and over again.
It’s hoping they’ll change.
Then watching them prove, again, that they won’t.

Walking away means letting go of the version of them you created in your head.
The one who could have loved you right.
The one who could have grown with you if they had just tried.

But they didn’t.
And it’s not your job to fix someone who doesn’t want to be fixed.
No amount of love can heal a person who is choosing to stay broken.
That’s not your fault. And it never was.

There is strength in walking away.
There is power in saying
“I deserve more than pieces.”
There is healing in choosing yourself
Even if your voice shakes
Even if your heart breaks
Even if no one claps for you

Because you will look back one day
And be so proud of the girl who finally let go
And realized she was never the problem.
