Everyone warns you about how fast it all goes

Everyone warns you about how fast it all goes.

But nothing in the world prepares you for the way it really feels.

One day, you’re rocking a baby who can’t do a single thing without you.
The next, they’re taking off, running ahead, not even glancing back.

One day, their tiny fingers are wrapped so tightly around yours.
The next, they’re pulling away, asking for space, proving they can do it all on their own.

You go from being the center of their universe to standing on the sidelines, cheering as they create a universe of their own.

Motherhood is made of fleeting moments you wish you could freeze.
It’s breathtaking.
It’s heavy.
It’s gone before you’re ready.

So I’ll hold them closer, let time slow down for just a heartbeat, and soak in every second because these are the days I’ll ache for when they’re gone.
