I was the little girl

I was the little girl who carried the weight of things no child ever should.

Now, I’m the mom who’s choosing differently. The mom who’s choosing healing.
I used to wonder why it all felt so heavy and why I noticed the pain no one talked about.
But now I get it.
I wasn’t meant to carry it forever.
I was meant to end it.
It stops with me.
For my kids.
For the little girl I used to be.
