 I’ll never make my child have a relationship with anyone. You either show up or you don’t. It really is that simple.

It’s your choice if you want to call, if you want to come over, if you want to be there for the little moments that matter more than you think.

But remember this. The less you show up, the less of a bond there will be. That’s not on my child. That’s not on me. That’s all on you.

One day if you wonder why there’s distance and why there’s no closeness, I hope you think back to all the times you could have been there and chose not to be. Because love only grows where effort is planted.
