RSVP isn’t a vibe check

 RSVP isn’t a vibe check.

It’s a commitment.

If you can’t come, say so.
If you say you’re coming, come.

Because my kid isn’t your maybe.
I spent the week planning, baking, decorating, and hyping them up about who was coming.
They counted down the days.
They asked every morning how many more sleeps until their friends got here.

And then the day came.
The balloons were up. The cupcakes were out. The music was playing.
And they kept looking at the door that never opened.

You might think it’s not a big deal.
But to a little heart that was waiting, it means everything.

So please if you RSVP yes, show up.
If you can’t, just say so.
Because these moments are memories for our kids.
And they deserve friends who follow through.
