A tantrum isn’t them just throwing a fit

A tantrum isn’t them just throwing a fit.

It’s not about control or manipulation.

It’s communication.

It’s a child saying, “I’m overwhelmed,”
“I don’t know how to handle this,”
“I need help regulating.”

Our job isn’t to stop it.
It’s to stay calm enough to guide them through it.
To be their safe place while they learn what to do with all those big feelings.
