ON GOLDEN POND
"ON GOLDEN POND"m- (1981)
MY THOUGHTS ... I truly love this movie and every aspect of the film. It is beautifully done and extremely well-acted. I hadn't seen it for a while, and I felt like I was visiting an old friend. It gives me that kind of "cozy" undercurrent, in spite of any rough seas or approaching storms up top. The one thing I had forgotten was how wonderful the score is. No surprise there, since it was done by the very talented Dave Grusin (one of my favorite composers and pianist). He has been responsible for a LOT of beautiful movie music, of all types, and he always captures perfectly the mood and emotion of the scene he is scoring. If you want to check out just how good those songs are, or what movies they are from, checkout "Cinemagic" by Dave Grusin. Any true movie fan will love listening to it and will be able to close their eyes and know, exactly what is going on in the film and which one it is!
