The 14th Academy Awards were held on February 26, 1942, at the Biltmore Hotel and it was hosted by Bob Hope. Darryl F. Zanuck won for producing the Best Picture winner, "How Green was My Valley". John Ford won Best Director for "How Green was My Valley" over Orson Welles "Citizen Kane", Alexander Hall "Here Comes Mr. Jordan", William Wyler "The Little Foxes", and Howard Hawks "Sergeant York". Gary Cooper won Best Actor for his performance in "Sergeant York" and the other nominees were Cary Grant "Penny Serenade", Walter Huston "All That Money Can Buy", Robert Montgomery "Here Comes Mr. Jordan", and Orson Welles "Citizen Kane".
