There are things I used to hold onto tightly

There are things I used to hold onto tightly.

Worry.
Fear.
The need to protect every little piece of the people I love.

I thought if I held on hard enough,
I could keep them safe from everything life might bring.

But love… real love… teaches you something different.

It teaches you to trust.

Not in yourself alone,
but in something greater than your own strength.

There comes a moment when you realize
you can’t walk every road for them.

You can’t carry every burden,
or shield every heartache.

So you do the only thing that truly brings peace—

You place them in God’s hands.

Not because you’re giving up,
but because you understand
that His love reaches further than yours ever could.

And in that quiet surrender…

you find a kind of comfort
that holding on too tightly never gave you.
