The Rich Are Always With Us

Bette Davis 1932 "The Rich Are Always With Us", Davis is cast third as Malbro, which I kept hearing as the cigarette brand, but just as she did in Stanwyck's "So Big", Davis gave a really fresh and vibrant performance but here she is in the whole film as Ruth Chatterton's friend who is out to capture George Brent. She appeared in several films in 1931 and would double it in 1932. It's easy to see why she was garnishing attention.
