You might’ve written my kids off

You might’ve written my kids off.

Maybe you didn’t see their worth. Maybe you underestimated them.

But I didn’t. I never have.

I saw their fire before the world ever had a chance to try and put it out.
I’ve raised them in a home where their voices matter. Where their hearts are protected and their strength is fed.

They are spoken to with love
Reminded of their power
Taught that they never have to shrink for anyone

So if you ever tried to count them out
Don’t worry
They didn’t feel it

They were too busy being poured into by a mom who refused to let them forget who they are

And that kind of love
It builds something the world can’t break.
