There was nothing like Halloween as a kid

There was nothing like Halloween as a kid.

The air felt different colder, but alive with excitement.
The sky a little darker, the trees a little creepier, every shadow full of mystery.

You’d stay out long after the streetlights flickered on, running from house to house with your friends, laughing so hard your stomach hurt. Every porch had its own story spooky music, glowing pumpkins, the smell of candy and leaves mixing in the air.

It wasn’t just about costumes or candy.
It was about magic.
About the feeling that, for one night, the whole world came out to play.
