THE BIG CHILL
"THE BIG CHILL" --- (1983) ---
MY THOUGHTS:
This is one of my favorite movies and, in my humble opinion, it still holds up today. It also has one of the best, and most appropriate, soundtracks that compliments a movie's content and themes. It is well-written, well-acted and very well-done. It was also very well-cast, with each of the actors doing a great job on their character. And ... for those of you who want to know the answer to the age-old question: "Wasn't Kevin Costner supposed to be in this movie?" He WAS in it. It is just that you only you saw very little of what was filmed of him. Flashback scenes with Kevin Costner (as Alex Marshall) were filmed but then cut out of the movie. Costner is still visible as the body being dressed at the beginning of the film. (Costner's big break came when he played Jake, a cowboy in the western film "Silverado" in 1985, which was another Lawrence Kasden film. His first starring role was as Eliot Ness in "The Untouchables" in 1987.) If you have never seen "The Big Chill" do yourself a favor and check it out. VERY much worth the watch!
