LITTLE LORD FAUNTLEROY
"LITTLE LORD FAUNTLEROY" --- (1936) ---
MY THOUGHTS:
This movie is quite good, not to mention charming at certain points, which has everything to do with the young actor who plays the title role: Freddie Bartholomew. He is a truly gifted child actor and gives a truly nuanced performance for someone his age. I imagine that was a real treat for his adult counterparts, who didn't have to "dummy down" their performances, with nothing lacking in his. I enjoyed his performance in this, and "Captains Courageous" so much, that I am now on a quest to take in as many of his films as I can find. I also liked watching him act with Mickey Rooney in two of his films. They play well off of each other, which is also a treat. I would definitely recommend his movies. His performances are wonderful and make his movies more than worth the watch!
