SUPPORT YOUR LOCAL SHERIFF

 "SUPPORT YOUR LOCAL SHERIFF" --- (1969) ---

MY THOUGHTS:
I truly enjoyed this movie. One of the main reasons is James Garner. He exudes a certain "wink and a smile" kind of charm when he acts, and it translates very well in this film. It is a fun movie and one that can be enjoyed by the whole family. It has a great cast of character actors, and they all do a terrific job which adds to the overall success of the film. I would highly recommend it to anyone who is looking for a fun, family comedy.

SYNOPSIS:
"A small-scale gold rush erupts in a Colorado town after treasure is found in a grave. The area quickly becomes a magnet for criminals and other ne'er-do-wells, but everyone is too intent on searching for gold to consider law and order. When Jason McCullough, a clever and supremely laid-back gunslinger, wanders into town, he becomes the de facto lawman, aided by local eccentric Jake. McCullough's ingenuity is tested, however, when he runs afoul of the tough Danby gang."

STARRING:
James Garner, Jack Elam, Joan Hackett, Walter Brennan, Bruce Dern, Harry Morgan, Walter Burke, Gene Evans, Henry Jones, Chubby Johnson and Kathleen Freeman.

SCREENPLAY:
William Bowers

DIRECTOR:
Burt Kennedy
