The 66th Academy Awards ceremony


 The 66th Academy Awards ceremony, organized by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (AMPAS), honored films released in 1993 and took place on March 21, 1994, at the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion in Los Angeles.

"Schindler's List" won Best Picture over "The Fugitive", "In the Name of the Father", "The Piano", "The Remains of the Day".
Steven Spielberg won Best Director for "Schindler's List" over Jim Sheridan "In the Name of the Father", Jane Campion "The Piano", James Ivory "The Remains of the Day", Robert Altman "Short Cuts".
Tom Hanks won Best Actor for "Philadelphia", over Daniel Day-Lewis "In the Name of the Father", Laurence Fishburne "What's Love Got to Do with It", Anthony Hopkins "The Remains of the Day", Liam Neeson "Schindler's List".

Holly Hunter won Best Actress for "The Piano" over Angela Bassett "What's Love Got to Do with It", Stockard Channing "Six Degrees of Separation", Emma Thompson "The Remains of the Day", Debra Winger "Shadowlands".
Tommy Lee Jones won Best Supporting Actor for "The Fugitive" over Leonardo DiCaprio "What's Eating Gilbert Grape", Ralph Fiennes "Schindler's List", John Malkovich "In the Line of Fire", Pete Postlewaite "In the Name of the Father".
Anna Paquin won Best Supporting Actress for "The Piano" over Holly Hunter "The Firm", Rosie Perez "Fearless", Winona Ryder "The Age of Innocence", Emma Thompson "In the Name of the Father".
