This Supertunica was worn by Queen Victoria at the moment she was crowned, at her Coronation at Westminster Abbey, 28th June 1838.
Its a gold lame coronation supertunica of gold thread on yellow warp, brocaded in polychrome silk in a scrolling design incorporating Tudor roses, thistles, and shamrocks, within scrolling design of stylised palm leaves.
Edged with gold bobbin lace, incorporating gold colour metal spangles.
The hanging sleeves extended down to Victoria's knee.
