This gown was worn by Queen Mary at her joint Coronation with King George V at Westminster Abbey, 22 June 1911.
The dress was cream coloured silk satin, embroidered with gilt metal thread and tiny gilt metal beads.
The Princess Louise Needlework School in Sloane Street used gold thread to embroider a pattern.
A border of waves at the hem, represented the oceans connecting the British Empire, the Lotus and the Star of India.
