In dysfunctional families

 In dysfunctional families,

the one who speaks up
is often the one who gets pushed out.

the one who sets boundaries
becomes “the problem.”

while the one causing the hurt
gets protected, defended,
kept comfortable.

so the roles get flipped
truth feels like betrayal,
and silence gets rewarded.

but distance doesn’t mean you were wrong.
sometimes it just means
you were the only one willing to see it.
