Not all family chooses to be there

Not all family chooses to be there.

some live close
but feel far.

some say “we’ll come by”
and never do.

some check in just enough
to say they tried
but never enough to actually show up.

and kids notice.

not the excuses.
not the reasons.

just the silence.
the missed moments.
who’s there… and who isn’t.

because to a child,
love doesn’t sound like words

it looks like presence.

and if you choose not to be there…

they learn that too.
