Canyon de Chelly National Monument

 Canyon de Chelly National Monument

Navajo Nation Park, located in Arizona, United States
▪️Homeland of the Navajo Nation for nearly 5,000 years, Canyon de Chelly National Monument in northwestern Arizona offers a unique insight into the history of these tribes. The Navajo people continue to live, work, and raise their families in the rugged canyons that surround the monument.
▪️The 130-mile loop road leads to stunning views of red cliffs towering over farmland that thrives on the canyon floor. At the end of South Rim Drive, enjoy views from the popular Spider Rock overlook, featuring the park’s signature geological formation.
▪️The park preserves ruins of ancient indigenous tribes that lived in the area, including the Ancient Pueblo (also called Anasazi) and Navajo peoples, and is still home to about forty Navajo families. The monument covers 83,480 acres (339.3 km²) and encompasses the floors and rims of three major canyons: de Chelly, del Muerto, and Monument Canyon.
