Diana Frances Spencer
Born Diana Frances Spencer on the 1st July 1961, Princess Diana was the fourth of five children born to Lord John Spencer - Viscount Althorp, and Frances Shand Kydd.
Diana was born into the British nobility, and grew up close to the royal family on their Sandringham estate.
Diana had two older sisters, Sarah and Jane and a younger brother, Charles.
Prince Charles dated Diana's sister Sarah first, but there were no hard feelings:
"I introduced them," Sarah later claimed. "I'm Cupid."
