Anne Bancroft and Mel Brooks
Anne Bancroft (Sept. 17, 1931 – June 6, 2005) and Mel Brooks. They were married for 41 years. They first met at a rehearsal for the Perry Como Variety Show in 1961, and got married three years later on August 5, 1964. Anne has received an Academy Award, 3 BAFTA Awards, 2 Golden Globe Awards, 2 Tony Awards, 2 Primetime Emmy Awards, and a Cannes Film Festival Award. Their son, Max Brooks, was born in 1972. He is an author. He has been married to playwright Michelle Kholos since 2003. Mel Brooks and Anne Bancroft remained married until 2005 when Anne died due to cancer.
