STORM RAINBOW STRIKE
STORM RAINBOW STRIKEA clean rainbow over a dark sea .. then the sky snaps with lightning.
A rainbow needs sunlight hitting raindrops at the right angle, so this usually happens on the edge of a storm when one side is still lit. The lightning is from charge building inside the thundercloud (ice + hail collisions), then releasing in a fast electrical discharge — which is why you can get both in the same frame.
Where you can see that:
Coastal storm lines with a low Sun .. Florida’s Gulf Coast, the Outer Banks, Portugal’s Atlantic coast, Spain’s Costa Brava, and South Africa’s Cape coast.
