HORIZON HALO SUNSET

 HORIZON HALO SUNSET

A clean sun-drop to the horizon… and then that soft rainbow dome blooms over the water like a lens.
This look can happen when sunlight hits a thin veil of ice crystals high in the atmosphere (cirrus). The crystals bend and spread the light into colors, and near sunset the low sun angle makes the arc feel bigger, smoother, and more dramatic.
The mirror on the water is just the same light bouncing back—so the whole scene turns into a calm “double exposure” of sky + sea.

📍Where you can see that: cold, clear coastal evenings—think Northern Norway / Iceland / Alaska coast, or any place with thin high clouds and a wide open horizon.
