The sky tied itself into a ribbon of color above the open plains
High winds shaped the cloud tops into sweeping curves, while sunlight slipped through different layers of moisture and ice crystals. Each bend in the air acted like a lens, stretching and separating the light into flowing bands that look almost painted across the atmosphere.
Below, the straight road and quiet grasslands make the sky feel even larger .. like the Earth paused just to frame this moment.
This is sunlight refracting and scattering through layered cloud formations, enhanced by wind shear at high altitude.
