Charmed

"There are friendships that start with a casual handshake on set, but then become inseparable. For me, Shannen and Holly were like that.

In the early days of Charmed, Shannen would always come up, smile, and ask, “Are you okay, Leo?” Not just a line, but a genuine question from someone who cared. Holly was different — she didn’t say much, but her warm look and smile were enough to make anyone feel like they belonged.

We weren’t just co-stars. We were three wanderers who found each other in the hustle and bustle of Hollywood. One night, after a late night shoot, the three of us went to a little diner on the corner, ordered pizza, and laughed so hard that the owner had to gently remind us. Shannen once said to me, “Brian, if anything happens to you, just call. Even if it’s 3 a.m., I’ll still listen.” And I knew she would.

When Shannen left the show, many people thought things would change. But no, we still found ways to see each other, still asked about each other, still quietly showed up when needed. In recent years, as Shannen battled illness, Holly and I were more than friends — we were family. Family doesn’t have to be blood-related. Family is the people you know, no matter what, will never abandon you.

Maybe one day, the lights on the set will go out, the episodes will be forgotten by time, but this friendship… will not. It will stay, like a smoldering fire in the heart, enough to warm a lifetime."
