Sometimes we’re not moody
Sometimes we’re not moody
We’re just overstimulatedWe’re not mean
We’re maxed out
And no one sees it until we snap
But they didn’t see the little hands grabbing at us all day
Didn’t hear the questions that never stopped
Didn’t feel the weight of being needed before we even opened our eyes
We’re holding so much
Tiny hearts
Big emotions
The whole household
And still somehow we’re expected to smile through it all
I’m not asking for a break from my babies
I’m asking for space to breathe
For someone to say hey you don’t have to carry it alone today
So if you see a mama come undone in the grocery store
Or tear up in her car outside the house
Don’t assume she’s weak
Don’t call her dramatic
She might just be the strongest one you know
Running on empty
Doing her best
And still showing up
Check on her
Hold space for her
Because I promise she’s holding more than you’ll ever realize
