.
Several people testified against Bishop, stating that she could change shape, and the shape of Bishop would pinch, choke or bite them.
During the trial, reports say, that any time Bishop would look upon one of her accusers, they would be immediately struck down and only her touch would revive them.
Bishop was charged for committing witchcraft upon five women, Ann Putnam, Mercy Lewis, Abigail Williams, Mary Walcot, and Elis Hubert.
Ann Putnam stated that Bishop called the devil her God, while others accused Bishop of harming them with just a quick glance. Even Bishop's own husband claimed she praised the devil.
The jury found Bridget Bishop guilty of witchcraft and issued her death warrant on the 8th June 1692.
On Friday, 19th June 1692, sometime between 8am and noon, Bridget Bishop was taken to the exEcution site at Proctor’s Ledge in Salem and hanged.
As a convicted witch, she wasn’t allowed to be buried in consecrated ground, so she was buried at the execution site.
