King Håkon's hall


King Håkon's hall from the 13th century. The central tower of the castle (Bergenhus) can be seen in the background to the left. The castle is located in Norway's second largest city - Bergen. In the Middle Ages, Bergen was an important city for the Hanseatic League. Picture number two shows how the royal hall looks from the inside. It has three floors, the picture shows the banquet hall and the king's high seat.
