I could never be a stay-at-home mom
“I could never be a stay-at-home mom.”
Cool. But don’t say it like you’re better than me for it.This isn’t some cute little hobby. It’s not naps and instagram worthy cups of coffee.
It’s holding everyone else together while forgetting when you last sat down.
It’s dishes that never end, forgetting to eat lunch, and being touched out before noon.
It’s carrying the weight of everyone’s needs while wondering if your own even matter anymore.
It’s the mental load, the invisible work, the being everything to everyone every single day.
It’s the kind of tired that sleep doesn’t fix.
So yeah when someone says, “I could never,” I just nod.
Because maybe you’re right.
Maybe YOU couldn’t.
But I do.
Not because it’s easy.
But because I show up. For them. For me. For this family.
And I’m done pretending like that’s not something to be proud of.
